PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen a retracting quantity of continuous paper during print restarting period by stopping print when a boundary of page reaches fixing means, and restarting transfer from a following page of the transferred page during the print restarting period. SOLUTION: When the transfer of a final page is completed, a corona charger 71 waits; however, the conveyance and fixedness of continuous paper P is carried on by a tractor. When the front end of a final page reaches a pair of fixing rollers 8, the conveyance of the continuous paper P by the tractor is also stopped simultaneously. At the same time, a heat roller 81 of a pair of the fixing rollers 8 rises in order to release the continuous paper P. Furthermore, prior to restarting, the tractor reverses once so as to retract the continuous paper P only at a distanceα(=D-L; wherein D is a distance between the transfer position T and the fixing position F, and L is the length of pages). As a result, perforations of the rear end of a transferred final page Z reaches the transfer position T. If the corona charger 71 and heat roller 81 are returned to their effecting positions, the standby of a following page is completed.
