PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly control opening/closing of a switching valve by forming a transferring part of a throttle flow-in part to a valve seat on which a ball valve is seated as a diffuser, in a device enclosing the switching valve opened by releasing the ball valve from the valve seat with high pressure fuel flow. SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve is provided with a casing 2 having a connecting part to which fuel at injection pressure is supplied, and an injection valve needle 5 is disposed in the casing 2. The injection valve needle 5 has a guide zone 6 and a small diameter part 9, and an injection opening 12 is opened/closed in cooperation of a seal surface 10 of an end part of the small diameter part 9 with a valve seat 11. A switching valve 19 is disposed in the casing 2, the switching valve 19 is provided with a ball valve opened by high pressure fuel flow supplied from a pressure chamber 15 connected to a center high pressure leading pipe 4 through a circular cone shaped throttle valve 17, and a transferring part of a throttle flow-in part to the valve seat on which the ball valve is seated is formed as two diffusers which are connected in series so as to obtain maximum pressure recovery.
