PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display information concerning staple, e.g. position, number, margin of staple, and the like, in the form of a plain print preview along with a document image being printed actually before it is printed. SOLUTION: The driver 101 of a host computer 100 for controlling a printer 200 which can perform staple printing is provided with a user interface accepting a user input for setting the position of staple printing being performed by the printer 200. When the position of staple operation is set by performing a specified user operation through the user interface, a preview screen is generated by synthesizing the image of staple on a print image generated by a specified application 102 from a specified data file depending on set staple operation control information and presented as a preview display.
