PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust an intruding angle of a paper sheet in relation to a friction pad by setting a plurality of different planes so that surfaces facing a paper feeding roller on the friction pad are angled in relation to the paper feeding direction. SOLUTION: A friction pad 1 is set so that difference planes facing a paper feeding roller 3 on the friction pad 1, namely a plane 1a and a plane 1b are angled by an angleα. This friction pad 1 is adhered to a holder 2. Because the friction pad 1 rotates about the fulcrum 2a of the holder 2 and a contact point between the friction pad 1 and the paper feeding roller 3 displaces, the intruding angleαof paper sheets 4 to the friction pad 1 can be changed. The intruding angle for the friction pad and/or paper sheet separating performance can be set according to the sheets, and stable separation and paper feeding can be performed for various sheets with different stiffness.
