PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high mechanical durability (particularly shock, scratch and wear resistance), improved cleanability and resistance to sticking of paper dusts, free from a harmful effect on electrophotographic characteristics such as static potential, sensitivity and residual potential and also having superior performance even in an environment of a high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer in which an electric charge carrier layer 3 consists of plural constituent layers and the top layer 3B has a binder obtained by crosslinking a resin having hydroxyl or amino groups in the principal or side chain of repeating nits with a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking agent is a compound prepared by allowing a bi- or higher functional isocyanate compound to react with a polyhydric alcohol compound or a polycarboxylic acid compound.
