PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect only pure mechanical abnormal vibrations for cutting a sound wave generated from the whole equipment, in an inspecting device for detecting damages or the like in the bearing part of a rotary equipment. SOLUTION: In this abnormal vibration inspecting device, a contact end face 1 is formed in the tip of a long rod-like stethoscopic bar 2, a microphone 3 is connected to a rear end part of the bar 2, the vibration of the microphone 3 is amplified via an amplifier 4, and an earphone 5 or a headphone is provided to make it into audible sound. The length of the bar 2 is formed sufficiently long, so that the mechanical vibration which propagated from the tip of the bar 2 to the rear end part of the bar 2 is detected by the microphone 3.
