The invention provides a carbamate functional compound (a) of the formula R(X)y having Cn symmetry wherein n = 2 or higher and a Tg >/= 30 DEG C, wherein X is a carbamate functional group and y >/= 2. The invention further provides a powder coating composition having a compound (a) of the formula R(X)y with Cn symmetry wherein n = 2 or higher and a Tg >/= 30 DEG C, wherein X is a carbamate functional group and y >/= 2, and a curing agent (b).
