PURPOSE: A sorting method of the output papers of a printer is provided to conveniently sort the printed documents by outputting a document information page representing information such as file name, user name, printing time, etc., on a printed data before printing the printing data. CONSTITUTION: A sorting method of the output papers of a printer includes the steps of converting a printing data composed in a computer appliance program and document information on the printing data into a language readably in a printer by a printer driver and transmitting the converted printing data and document information to the printer, storing the transferred printing data and document information in a printer memory(s204), detecting the transferred document information from the memory to print(s205), and outputting the document information between documents printed with the printing data(s211).
