PURPOSE: An air cleaner of an engine for a ship is provided to reuse a filter by removing alien materials such as grease adhered on a filter in a process for removing alien materials from air. CONSTITUTION: Much grease is adhered on respective filters for a ship in a filtering process. A subsidiary filter(36) needs to be replaced frequently due to much alien material. The subsidiary filter is installed out of a body(20) and removal by a magic tape, thus the filter is removed from the body easily. The subsidiary filter is formed of unwoven fabric or woven fabric, thus it is possible to be reused by removing the alien materials with grease by cleansing with gasoline, benzene or thinner. When outer and inner metal filters(30,32) and a fiber filter(34) prepared in the body are cleansed, the body is simply separated from a fixing plate(40) by unfastening a nut(49) fixing the fixing plate to the body. The separated body is dipped into the solvent such as gasoline, benzene and thinner and shaken to move the solvent. By the movement of the solvent, the alien materials adhered on the metal filters and the synthetic fiber filter(34) is removed effectively.
