ALIGNING METHOD FOR FIBER GRATING OPTICAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved aligning method for optically coupling an optical fiber with a fiber grating to a semiconductor optical amplifier and forming an optical resonator. SOLUTION: This method is an aligning method for a fiber grating optical module positioning the optical fiber 14 having a fiber grating 14a for the semiconductor optical amplifier 16 and forming the optical resonator. In such a case, this method is provided with a coupling step optically coupling a light reflector 54 having prescribed reflectance for the optical fiber so as to form the optical resonator with the light reflection surface 16b of the semiconductor optical amplifier 16, an oscillation step adding current from a power source 48 to the semiconductor optical amplifier 16 and generating laser oscillation in the optical resonator constituted of the light reflection surface 16b of the semiconductor optical amplifier 16 and the light reflector 54 and an aligning step aligning the optical fiber 14 for the semiconductor optical amplifier 16.
