PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a cold contact from receiving thermal effects of a hot contact and to improve measurement accuracy separately arranging the hot contact and the cold contact, and connecting them with a circuit. SOLUTION: For example, a hot contact 2 is arranged on a heat sink 5 via a membrane 10, cold contacts 3 are arranged below a heat insulator 55 located below the heat sink 5, and the contacts 2, 3 are connected by a prescribed circuit to form a thermopile type infrared sensor for an ear type clinical thermometer. The contacts 2, 3 are preferably separated by about 5 mm or more, and the thickness of the heat insulator 55 is preferably set to about 5 mm or more. An absolute temperature detecting element such as a thermistor obtaining the temperature of the cold contacts 3 is arranged, for example at the center of multiple cold contacts 3 in the thermally coupled state with them. When a circuit block is used for connecting the contacts 2, 3, high-density wiring is facilitated. If the cold contacts 3 are controlled at the prescribed temperature by a Peltier element, further improvement in accuracy is obtained.
