PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management system by which a supervisor can easily manage an ATM network. SOLUTION: The network management system manages whether or not an ATM network is normally in operation. The system is provided with an acquisition means 15 that acquires management information from virtual path/ virtual channel passing nodes that are physical connection nodes and logical connection nodes, a discrimination means 13 that discriminates whether or not there is any contradiction in the acquired management information, and a notice means 11 that informs about contradiction when the discrimination means 13 discriminates the contradiction.
