发明名称 PRODUCTION OF THIN FILM OF POLYDIACETYLENE DERIVATIVE AND POLARIZATION SEPARATING ELEMENT
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the transmission of a polarization separating element that is prepared by forming periodic lattices made of poly(diacetylene) derivative film on the surface of optically isotropic substrate. SOLUTION: A diacetylene monomer is deposited onto at least one face of the plane of incidence 101 or the plane of light outgoing of the optically isotropic base plate, then the diacetylene monomer is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to form a thin layer 11 of the blue-colored polydiacetylene derivative under the radiation conditions where the wavelength of the UV rays is 200-300 nm and the radiation energy of 100-200 mJ/cm2. Then, the thin layer 11 is heat- treated at a temp. of 140-160 deg.C for 50-70 minutes to convert the thin layer from blue color to red color. The transmission of the red-color thin layer can be increased by using these irradiation conditions and heat-treatment conditions. Thus, the thin layer 11 is selectively irradiated with ultraviolet rays to form the periodic lattice on the thin layer and the transmission of the polarized light separating element can be increased.
