PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-cleaning type separator for pneumatic conveying system which can take out nearly completely coherent or adherent products, preventing the products from attaching to walls of the separater. SOLUTION: The separator separates coherent or adherent solids carried by a fluid from a flow of solids by a centrifugal separation method. The separator comprises at least a cylindrical upper portion 8 having a separation chamber 3, a product inlet port 2, a fluid outlet port 5, and a cylindrical lower portion 6 having a solid outlet port 7, and the port 7 is adjacent to the lower end of the lower portion 6. A side wall 4 of the upper portion 8 is formed from at least an elastic material, particularly from an elastomeric material.
