PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the embossment reproducibility of an embossed pattern by enhancing infrared radiation heating efficiency at the time of emboss processing of the embossed pattern without exerting adverse effect on design appearance. SOLUTION: For example, a decorative sheet S consists of one or more thermoplastic resin sheets 1, 1a and decoration processing 2 such as a pattern layer 5 is applied to these sheets 1, 1a and an embossed pattern 3 is provided to the surface of the sheet S by embossment processing. An infrared absorber 4 transparent in a visible light wavelength region is added to at least one of the thermoplastic resin sheets. The decorative sheet is produced by applying an embossed pattern to at least one of the thermoplastic resin sheets heated by infrared radiation at the time of embossment processing by embossment processing using the thermoplastic resin sheet containing the infrared absorber 4.
