Die cutting apparatus comprises a die cutting form 20 having a number of straight blades 21 to form fold/score lines in a printing board. The form 20 also has a plurality of cut-out posts 30 with a cutting edge 31 which is blunted by a sharp edge 41 of a blade 40 driven into the cutting edge 31 to form diametrically opposed nicks 35. The nicks are less than 0.2 mm and form, on die cutting, thin connecting webs 29 between the cut-out 2 and the main body of the surrounding board. An effective die cut is made but the cut-outs are retained partially attached to the board for ease of subsequent removal. |
