METHOD OF BONDING AND MOLDING MODIFIED POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE MOLDINGS

A method for producing a molded article of modified polytetrafluoroethylene by joining by providing at least one molding part of modified polytetrafluoroethylene on or near an inner wall of a mold, heating said at least one molding part to a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of modified polytetrafluoroethylene while rotating the mold carrying said at least one molding part around at least one rotation axis of the mold, and joining the abutted faces of said at least one molding part and finishing the outer surface of the molding part in a contour following the inner wall surface of the mold. This method can produce the molded article of modified PTFE which has a smooth inner surface having neither steps nor unevenness.
