DIAGNOSIS OF OCULAR PATHOGENS

This invention relates to a method for determining the presence of ocular pathogens in a sample using the polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The method provides a simple way of accurately determining a pathogen to the species level and can detect the pathogen even if only one pathogenic organism is present in the sample.
