<p>The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an ink cartridge for use in an ink jet recorder. The method comprises the step of providing a container body (1) having a first wall and a plurality of walls extending upwardly therefrom to define an opening spaced from the bottom walls on a pallet. The container body (1) includes a chamber for accommodating a porous member (150, 151, 152) therein, and an ink supply port (180, 181, 182), having an inlet formed in the bottom surface of the chamber and an outlet. As a further step a packing member (115) is inserted into the ink supply port (180, 181, 182) and then the ink supply port outlet is sealed. Furthermore, a porous member (150, 151, 152) is inserted into the foam chamber (160, 161, 162) and a cover (11) is bonded to the opening of the container body (1). The ink cartridge (70) is depressurized a first time. Ink is injected into the foam chamber (160, 161, 162) after the first depressurizing step and the ink cartridge (70) is depressurized a second time. Finally the remainder of the cover (11) is sealed after the second depressurizing step.</p> |
