PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a safe drive for a sufficient distance at a rational speed even after the loss of internal pressure by forming a thin toroidal band buried in a crown part by use of a plurality of layers of slender strip materials, and mutually tapering the edges of a pair of end parts thereof toward the pair of end parts. SOLUTION: A toroidal band 10 is buried in the crown part of a pneumatic tire 1 with a certain axial width and a certain radial thickness, and the neutral axis extends axially substantially through the center of the band 10. The band 10 is a composite member formed of a plurality of layers of long strip materials. The inner surface and outer surface toroidally and axially extending up to a pair of outside end parts and a certain part of the end parts are tapered toward the edges of the pair of end parts. According to this, the interlayer shearing force over the axial direction of the band member is reduced, and the durability of the band member and the pneumatic tire 1 integrated thereto is increased. |
