PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method forming a double-stage joint efficiently in a painting and coated film such as external and interior walls, floor or the like of a building for promoting architectural design efficiency as well as the prevention of cracks. SOLUTION: This double-stage joint formation method is a method forming a double-stage joint in a coated film constitued by painting liquid composition on a coated substance, first of all, one stage joint forming plate-like joiner A12 is stuck on a specific position of the coated surface, the liquid composition 14 is painted on a non-sticking coated surface of the joiner A12, the coated film is solidified up to an extent exceeding the flowing limit, and after a double- stage joint forming plate-like joiner B22 formed by putting such a transparent or semitransparent plate-like mark as the central part thereof is positioned to the central part of the joiner A12 is so stuck on the joiner A12 that both central parts substantially coincide with each other, the liquid composition 14 is painted on a coated film surface of the liquid composition other than the joiner B22, and after the coated film is solidified up to an extent exceeding the flowing limit, the double-stage joint is formed by removing the joiners A12 and B22.
