TRANSPARENT BARRIER FILM, LAMINATE USING THIS FILM AND PACKAGING CONTAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an outstanding transparency and high barrier properties and at the same time, enhance the impact resistance by forming a barrier layer at least on one face of a base material film and forming this barrier layer of a thin film consisting mainly of a silicon oxide having a 4-membered ring structure of a silicon atom and an oxygen atom. SOLUTION: The transparent barrier film 1 to be used for a laminated material having an outstanding suitability for stocking and for use in a microwave oven and also for after-processing and a packaging container, consists of a base material film 2 and a barrier layer 3 formed on the face of the base material film 2. The barrier layer 3 is formed of a thin film made up mainly of a silicon oxide having a 4-membered ring structure of a silicon atom and an oxygen atom. The barrier layer 3 is so formed that in a spectrum obtained by measuring the barrier layer 3 by an infrared spectrum process, the ratio (S2/S1) of the peak area S2 of a stretching vibration absorption (Si-O-Si stretch mode) of the 4-membered ring structure of the silicon atom and the oxygen atom to the peak area S1 of the absorption by the silicon atom and the oxygen atom is at least 0.01.
