PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent shortage of oil supply by attaching an oil strainer to a suction pipe of an oil pump, returning relief oil to an oil pan, and locating an opening formed at the tip of a relief-oil return pipe near an inlet port of the oil strainer. SOLUTION: An oil strainer 7 which is put into oil in an oil pan 3 is attached to the tip of a suction pipe 5 of an oil pump 4. An inlet port 12 is formed in a lower case 14 of the oil strainer 7. A return pipe 10 for returning relief oil of the oil pump 4 to the oil pan 3 is disposed such that the tip of the return pipe 10 faces the inlet port 12. In the case where a surface 16 of the oil 6 is tilted while the vehicle is turning, and the inlet port 12 is partially exposed to the air, the oil pump tends to suck the air through the inlet port 12. However, the oil returned from the return pipe 10 flows into the oil strainer 7 through the inlet port 12, whereby insufficient suction of the oil pump 4 is eliminated. As a result, short supply of the lubricating oil is prevented.
