PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stable curtain film by reducing vibration of the curtain film by a method wherein in that wherein curtain coating of coating liquid is carried out on a web, a decompression chamber is provided in opposition to a back-up roll on an upper stream of the web, and a wind velocity between a die coater and the decompression chamber is specified. SOLUTION: A curtain film 4 is formed by discharging coating liquid from a curtain die coater 3, and application is carried out by allowing the film 4 to collide onto a web 2 to be continuously conveyed. In order to dissolve a problem wherein a thickness of a coating film is made uneven by vibrating the curtain film 4 by an accompanied air adjacent to the web 1, a decompression chamber is provided in opposition to a back-up roll 1 on an upper stream side of the curtain film 4, and the accompanied air is sucked. However, in order to raise an effect of the decompression chamber 5, a wind speed to be blown into from a clearance is made <=1 m/sec by making the clearance between the decompression chamber 5 and the curtain die coater 3 at least 2 cm. Thereby, the wind to be blown into the clearance is dispersed to depress the wind speed low, and the curtain film 4 is allowed not to be vibrated.
