PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable dissolved gas in a water-based high viscosity coating liquid to be effectively removed. SOLUTION: In this method for deaerating a water-based high viscosity coating liquid, a film deaerator making a fluorinated resin film a deaerating film is used. As the fluorinated resin film, an ethylene tetrafluoride-propylene hexafluoride copolymer resin film, an ethylene tetrafluoride- perfluoroalkoxyethylene copolymer resin film, or an ethylene tetrafluoride- ethylene copolymer resin film can be used.
