摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain in high yield an alkoxysilane useful for e.g. coating materials by reaction between metallic silicon particles and an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst in a vapor phase and in a fluidized bed with agitation so as to enable reaction temperature and reactivity to be uniformly controlled. SOLUTION: This alkoxysilane is obtained by reaction between metallic silicon particles and an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst such as metallic copper (the amount to be used is pref. 0.005-0.05 mol per mol of the metallic silicon) in a vapor phase and in a fluidized bed with agitation. It is preferable to use the metallic silicon particles previously carried with the catalyst or use the metallic silicon particles previously carried with the catalyst and activated by pretreatment, and furthermore it is preferable that the issue flow rate on a bed section basis by agitation satisfy the relationship: (issue flow rate on a bed section basis/fluidized gas flow rate on a bed section basis) <=3 and the agitation is conducted in such a condition as to be >=0.05 KW/m3 in necessary power per unit volume.
