PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the appearance of a bed suited to a Western style room and a Japanese style room not to offend the eye by providing a bed with a storing part on the lower side, pivoting a cover for covering an upper opening of the storing part on the rear edge of the upper opening edge of the storing part, and forming the cover by a right cover part and a left cover part which can be independently opened and closed. SOLUTION: A cover 2 is pivoted on the rear edge of an upper opening edge of a storing part 1 below a bed, thereby covering the upper opening of the storing part 1. The cover 2 is formed by a right cover part 3 and a left cover part 4 which can be independently opened and closed, and are respectively provided with a cover frame 5 and a straw mat 6. A band plate material 7 is disposed on the right end edge of the right cover part 3 and the left end edge of the left cover part 4. The right cover part 3 and the left cover part 4 are pivoted on the rear edge part of an upper frame 20 through a pivoting member 17. A tongue plate 18 is fitted to the right edge and the left edge of the upper frame 20, and a tongue piece 19 is fitted to the right end edge of the cover frame 5 of the right cover part 3 and the left end edge of the cover frame 5 of the left cover part 4. A telescopic support rod 13 is pivotally connected to the tongue plate 18 and the tongue piece 19 to resiliently energize the right cover part 3 and the left cover part 4 by the telescopic support rod 13.
