<p>A millM for obtg. ground materials and flours from various vegetable prods., consists of superimposed millstones, one being stationary and the other rotated by a motor. The stationary millstone has a channel for the passage of the grain; it is fitted with a screw which, according to the extent of its engagement in the millstone, adjusts the section of the channel. The screw is fitted with a knob, which is readily accessable and provides easy adjustment of the passage opening as a function of the size of the grains and of the output desired. Markings can be engraved on the screw and/or reproduced in colour to show the settings for the different sized grains. The length of the screw is calculated so that the knob bears against the support of the stationary millstone when the screw is in the posn. of max. engagement. The provision of the adjustable feed allows the mill to deal with a large number of cereals and leguminous plants without overloading; at the same time better adjustment of the fineness of grind is obtd. Pref. adjustment of the grain passage can also be effected by a coarse-threaded screw with a milled knob; this can be marked to show the posn. required for milling the different grains.</p> |
