PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install weights in golf club heads easily and fix weights to golf club heads tightly. SOLUTION: A head 12 includes a soleplate 15 and a weight 18 fixed to the soleplate 15 via a spacer 17. The soleplate 15 has in one place a recession 20, which accommodates the spacer 17 and weight 18 and has an internal undercut 28, while the weight 18 has in its periphery a circumferential groove 32. Press-fitting the weight 18 into the recession 20 via the spacer 17 forces the spacer 17 into engagement with the undercut 28 and circumferential groove 32 to thus fix the weight 18 tightly in the recession 20.
