WET TYPE METHOD FOR MAKING DIOXINS HARMLESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the treating temp. lower than the boiling temp. of water and to reduce the cost for making dioxins harmless by allowing a hydrochloric acidic aq. soln. containing a reaction catalyst in a dissolved state to bring into contact with dioxins at a specified temp. and decomposing and making dioxins harmless at a specified decomposition rate. SOLUTION: A dioxins-containing fly ash is introduced to a solid-liq. contact device 10 kept at a temp. lower than 100 deg.C through a line 11 and also the hydrochloric acidic aq. soln. for replenish is introduced through a line 13. The dioxins- containing fly ash is brought into contact with the aq. soln. to decompose more than 60% dioxins in the fly ash at the solid-liq. contact device 10. And, the treated fly ash is introduced to a solid-liq. separation device 2 through a line 15, and the solid matter such as fly ash incorporated in the aq. soln. is decomposed and also the aq. soln. is introduced to a metal separation device 3 through a line 16. Moreover, the separated metal is introduced to a copper separation device 4 and also the separated copper is introduced to the solid-liq. contact device 10 through a line 21.
