PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apartment house, in which the utilizable spaces of each floor can be expanded while the constraint of a floor plan and the layout of an opening section can be prevented because the installation of an intermediate column and the increase of the thickness of floors are made unnecessary even when the spans of columns are lengthened and an open ceiling is mounted at the central section of dwelling units and daylighting, draft and ventilation are carried out. SOLUTION: In the apartment house, in which dwelling units 11 formed of a main frame comprising floors 12, columns 13 and beams 14 are laminated on a plurality of floors, the two dwelling units 11, 11 are arranged in one span of the columns 13 in a plane manner in the lateral direction, and a multistory member 51 as a substructure penetrated through two floor or higher in a plurality of floors is set up at approximately the central section of the boundary of the two dwelling units 11, 11 apart from the main frame.
