PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating sensor mounting device for crankshaft which controls reduction of strength and rigidity of the crankshaft and reduces noise and vibration. SOLUTION: A sensor boss 15 for mounting a rotating sensor 16 on the end face of a web 3 provided on the end portion of a crankshaft 1 is installed by cutting in such a manner that the sensor boss 15 is projected. The sensor boss 15 is formed by a combination of a circular portion and a rectangular portion. By forming the sensor boss 15 into such a shape, an area S of the minimum cross-sectional portion in an overlapped portion 14 between a crank pin 8 and a crank journal 11 of the web 3 can be prevented from being reduced. As a result, strength and rigidity of the crankshaft 1 are retained and noise and vibration can be reduced.
