PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize the finish processing of an external gear using a cermet cutting edge even in dry processing. SOLUTION: This finishing hob comprises cermet cutting edges disposed in a single or plural rows. Its welding resistance is enhanced by forming thin film layers of layer lattice structural material over the surfaces of the cutting edges using molybdenum disulfide, tungsten disulfide, graphite fluoride or graphite or the like as solid lubricating material, therefore, welding can be prevented in processing, accuracy in processing can be enhance, and its excellent surface roughness can be maintained even in dry processing so that the hob can be used for a long time.
