PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid fear of stoppage of production, buckling at the time of removing a punch, and deterioration of roundness even when a pipe stock and a thin cylindrical body is thin in the case of producing the thin cylindrical body by ironing out of the pipe stock. SOLUTION: A folded part 7b having an annular space 7c is formed on an inner side surface of an opening end of one side of a cylindrical metallic pipe stock. An empty cylindrical projecting part 10b of an ironing punch 10 is inserted into the space 7c, and then an ironing work is executed and a body formed by ironing is formed. Then, a finger 15 of a stripper device 14 is engaged with an end surface 7d of the folded part 7b, and after the ironing punch 10 is taken out of the body formed by ironing, both ends of the body formed by ironing are trimmed.
