PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute precise positioning while a general purpose centrifugal separator can be applied to an automatic centrifugal separator by providing a positioning mechanism for conveying a rotor to a carrying in or out position of a container to, for example, a conveying means outside the centrifugal separator, and providing on the rotor a means for giving information of a bucket position is provided. SOLUTION: Centrifugal separation by an automatic centrifugal separator is executed by a method wherein after opening a door 6, a container 4a and a sample are placed on a bucket 5a by a conveying means 7, the door 6 is closed, and the rotor 3 is rotated. When the container 4a is inserted or taken out in this case, since the rotor 3 stands stopping at any position, a positioning mechanism part 9 is lowered following descending movement of the conveying means 7, a central tip of the rotor 3 is gripped by a pivot at the tip, and rotation of the rotor 3 is started by force. When markers 11, 13 on the rotor 3 are detected by sensors 10, 12 provided on the positioning mechanism part 9 in this case, rotation of the rotor 3 is stopped. Thereafter, the container 4a which has been conveyed by the conveying means 7, is inserted into the bucket 5a. |
