PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliability, long life, small sized and light weight fuel reformer free from problems of the degradation or the damage to materials such as thickness loss by oxidation, creep damage or the problem of the generation of large thermal stress in a structural member. SOLUTION: In the fuel reformer of fuel cell, which is provided with a reforming tube 2, a burner 1, a waste combustion gas flow passage 4 and a heat insulating layer 53 for insulating the outer periphery of a high temp. part, a part of the heat insulating layer constitutes at least a part of the lower part flow passage wall of the waste combustion gas flow passage, and the outer peripheral part of the heat insulating layer is constituted so as to be surrounded by a heat insulating layer surrounding housing 70 to be kept air-tight. |
