PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the amount of body fat by using an impedance CT. SOLUTION: A plurality of electrodes 4 are arranged in a manner to surround the abdominal section of a human body, and brought into contact with the abdominal section. A current is made to flow between two electrodes which are selected in order from among the plurality of electrodes 4, and an electric potential which is obtained by the remaining electrodes 4 or an electric potential difference between electrodes is measured, and an conductivity distribution on the cross section of the abdominal section of the human body is obtained based on the measured data. By comparing the conductivity of each region of the cross section of the abdominal section of the human body based on the conductivity distribution, with a threshold value, fat and textures other than fat are discriminated. Based on the discrimination result, a body fat percentage is calculated from the area of fat based on the total area of the cross section of the abdominal section of the human body, as a body fat amount. |
