PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a change in scanning speed of a recording head and record high-quality images without unevenness by changing a drive condition of a recording head driving motor in accordance with a change in scanning resistance of the recording head. SOLUTION: Three kinds of switching time tables for stepping motor phase signals corresponding respectively to a constant speed control, an acceleration control for first half recording and an acceleration control for last half recording of a stepping motor 101 are stored in a ROM 402. A CPU 401 outputs a phase. signal to a motor driver 404 with reference to the tables stored in the ROM 402. At this time, the CPU 401 switches three kinds of tables stored in the ROM 402 in accordance with an absolute position and a scanning direction of a carriage. The motor driver 404 electrically amplifies the phase signal from the CPU 401 and directly drives the stepping motor 101. Accordingly, high- quality images without unevenness can be recorded. |
