PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form both upper and back surfaces of the recessed part of an FRP molded object as gloss surfaces in a method for the compression molding of the FRP molded object having the recessed part and molded into a three- dimensional shape. SOLUTION: A lower mold 11 having a recessed part is constituted by a main body mold 11a and the core mold 11b inserted in the main body mold 11a to form a predetermined gap between both molds 11a, 11b and an unsaturated polyester molding material is charged in the recessed part of the lower mold 11 and an upper mold 13 is fitted in the recessed part of the lower mold 11 to close the recessed part of the lower mold 11 and the unsaturated polyester molding material 12 is compressed and heated under such a temp. condition that T1=T2+Δt2, T1=T3+Δt3, >=t2≪Δt3 and T1, T2, T3>= the curing temp. of the unsaturated polyester molding material 12 are formed when the temp. of the core mold 11b is set to T1, the temp. of the main body mold 11a is set to T2 and the temp. of the upper mold is set to T3.
