PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately eliminate bubbles and other foreign substances adhered on a pressure room wall surface by including a signal of a frequency approximate to the natural vibration frequency of a pressure room in an electric signal to be applied in an apparatus for ejecting an ink in the pressure room according to vibration of an electromechanical transducer element. SOLUTION: A recording head 1 has a pressure room 8 surrounded by a wall surface with a small ink ejecting opening 7 formed in a part thereof. According to vibration of an electromechanical transducer element 9 provided on the wall surface inner side of the pressure room 8, an ink 2 in the pressure room 8 is ejected. Since small bubbles 17 or foreign substances may be included in the ink 2 to be supplied into the pressure room 8, the bubbles 17 adhered on the wall surface of the pressure room 8 are eliminated by providing vibration to the ink 2 by applying an electric signal of a frequency approximate to the natural vibration frequency of the pressure room 8 to the electromechanical transducer element 9 after moving the recording head 1 to the cap 15 position so that the bubbles and the foreign substances are suctioned and eliminated with the ink 2 by the suctioning force of a pump.
