PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing method and a polishing device capable of preventing service life of a polishing material from being rapidly shortened due to frictional heat at low cost, reducing total polishing cost and machining uniform products at low cost. SOLUTION: A diamond electrodeposited roll 2 is arranged above a passing area of a polishing material 1 so as to make contact with the polishing material 1, and the diamond electrodeposited roll 2 is made free to rotationally drive by a motor 7 through pulleys 4, 6 and a belt 5. A spray nozzle 8 is arranged by confronting this diamond electrodeposited roll 2, pressurized water is supplied from a piping 9 to the spray nozzle 8, and compressed air is supplied from a piping 10. A driving electric current of a motor 7 is detected by a meter relay 15, and when the driving electric current becomes larger than a specified value, a solenoid valve is opened. All or most of droplets attached due to spraying are evaporated until they make contact with the polishing material, and the diamond electrodeposited roll is cooled by the latent heat of vaporization.
