PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide full line ink jet printer in which high quality printing can be carried out at higher speed. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer comprises a diaphragm 21 disposed at a part of a liquid chamber 22, and an electrode 31 disposed oppositely to the diaphragm on the outside of the liquid chamber 22 and performs recording by applying a voltage between the diaphragm 21 and the electrode 31 to generate an electrostatic force for driving the diaphragm 21 to eject an ink liquid drop from a nozzle 51 communicating with the liquid chamber 22. An ink jet head 100 is provided with the nozzles 51 over the entire width of a recording medium 1 and the electrodes 31 for driving the diaphragm 21 are formed entirely on one common substrate 33.
