PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive safety unit having a tempra fire preventive function. SOLUTION: In each cooking stove burner, the heat receiving part 2 abutting against the bottom of a cooking pan 1 is formed of a stainless material and one end of a rod material 4 made of constantan is welded to the rear surface of the heat receiving part 2 to form a stainless-constantan thermocouple. A thermistor 3 for detecting the ambient temperature at the cold point of the thermocouple is provided. Furthermore, a controller 5 calculates the bottom temperature of the pan from the temperature difference between the hot point H and the cold point C detected based on the thermoelectromotive force of the thermocouple, and the ambient temperature at the cold point detected by the thermistor 3 and stops combustion by closing the fuel gas channel when a decision is made that the bottom temperature of the pan is higher than a specified level thus preventing tempra fire. The tempra fire preventive function is released when a release switch 6 is turned on and high temperature cooking can be conducted.
