PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To, easily and inexpensively, eliminate the clogging of a sludge concentration/dehydration device for performing concentration or dehydration of sludge by using filter cloth to recover sludge treating capacity of the sludge concentration/dehydration device. SOLUTION: Hot air is brought into contact with filter cloth with sludge being removed from the filter cloth to dry the filter cloth and material stuck on the filter cloth. For example, in a sludge concentration/dehydration device of element system, after hot air generated by a fan 30 and a heater 32 is introduced into a treating tank 2 through a blast pipe 32 and is brought into contact with the filter cloth 13 in the treating tank 2, the hot air is discharged from an discharge pipe 34. It is preferable that the filter cloth 23 and material stuck on this filter cloth are almost completely dried.
