PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid shampoo, which has a small capacity and is packed in a simple package made of incinerable paper, by placing in a container having the form of a cone, a rectangular parallelopiped or the like to provide a solidified shampoo and shaping the shampoo by means of a die. SOLUTION: An alkali agent, such as caustic soda, is added to an oil and fat for hydrolysis, and is subjected to salting, if necessary. An alcohol, sugar and water are added to the resultant product and agitated, followed by further compounding additives, such as extracts, to obtain a shampoo. The shampoo may be placed in a container having the form of a cone, a rectangular parallelopiped or the like and solidified, or may be shaped by use of a die in the form of a cone, a parallelopiped or the like. In this way, the capacity of the shampoo can be reduced to 1/2 to 1/3 of the capacity of a conventional liquid shampoo. Moreover, a thickening agent, a viscosity stabilizer, a preservative, and a synthetic surface active agent become unnecessary, and an amount of rinsing water can be reduced to 1/2 or below.
