PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a crystallized glass having high Young's modulus, high flatness, smoothness and a high coefft. of thermal expansion nearly same as that of stainless steel, and to provide its producing method. SOLUTION: The crystallized glass is produced by reheating a glass formed body to precipitate diopside as the main crystal of microcrystals of the glass. The main compsn. of the glass source material contains 10 to 20 mol% Cab, 10 to 20 mol% MgO, 37 to 62 mol% SiO2 10 to 15 mol% Al2O3, and 8 to 12 mol% nucleus forming agent. This compsn. contains a larger content of SiO2 than the molar ratio of the crystal with the stoichiometric compsn. of diopside (CaO:MgO:SiO2=1:1:2).
