PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sticking of ash in a furnace and to stably treat the dioxins incorporated in the ash by charging captured ash into a decomposition furnace after granulating previously the ash to the granular body having a prescribed particle size by a granulating means. SOLUTION: The ash captured from a garbage incinerator, etc., is charged into a rolling device 4. In the rolling device 4, the charged ash is calendered between twin rolls 6 to form the ash sheet having the thickness of about several mm to 1 cm. The formed sheet is granulated to the granular body matched in a prescribed particle size by a granulating device 5. That is, the granulating device 5 is provided with a breaker 7 (consisting of a roll 9 and twin rolls 10 and 12) and a screen granulator 8 and the granular body having the particle size of 30μm to several mm is granulated by finely crushing the sheet in stepwise. The particle size is set in the particle size hardly causing a difficulty on transportation, etc., and in the particle size corresponding to the treating device. The granulated granular body is charged into the decomposition furnace 2. Here, the granular body is heated at 300-500 deg.C or more than that temp. in an inert atmosphere.
