PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer apparatus capable of storing the present printing mode at the time of switching the emulation, setting the stored printing mode again at the time of returning to the former emulation, and confirming the condition at the time of setting the printing mode again. SOLUTION: The initial setting printing mode is read out from a ROM (S6) after starting the emulation (S5). Whether a printing mode is stored in a RAM is-confirmed (S7). In the case it is (Yes), the stored printing mode is set in the RAM (S8). Moreover, in the case it is (No) in the step S7, the initial setting read out from the ROM is set (S9). At the time of switching the emulation, the present printing mode is stored so that the stored printing mode, if any, is set at the time of starting again. Even if the user alters a part of the printing mode, the same alteration needs not be executed. In the case it is not stored an appropriate setting can be executed by the initial setting of the ROM.
