PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide composition having excellent melted retention stability and having excellent performances such as flame retardance, heat resistance and low water absorbability. SOLUTION: This polyamide composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyamide comprising (a) dicarboxylic acid units containing 60-100 mol.% of terephthalic acid units and (b) diamine units containing 60-100 mol.% of 1,9- nonanediamine units and/or 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine units and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a brominated polystyrene having a bromine-generating rate of <=400 ppm/g when heated at 330 deg.C for 10 min.
