PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a centrifugal separator used for an automatic centrifugal separator in the same way as a general purpose centrifugal separator by a method wherein only the centrifugal separator of the automatic centrifugal separator is individually operated, and automatical operator or manual operation is selectively changed. SOLUTION: Centrifugal separation by an automatic centrifugal separator 1 is executed by a method wherein a container 4a and a sample 4b are placed on buckets 5a, 5b by a conveying means 7, and a rotor 3 is rotatively driven with a motor 2. Then, a system CPU 11 and an operation panel 10 are provided for transmitting signals 13, 14 corresponding to information such as drive start or drive stop of the motor 2 acceleration or deceleration information, temperature, rotational speed of the motor 2 or the like, to a centrifugal separation CPU 12. Then, an automatic/manual selector switch 9 for selecting either of the signals 13 or 14 is provided in a switch box, and the centrifugal separator of the automatical centrifugal separator 1 is enabled to be manually used in the same way as a general purpose centrifugal separator by switching of the selector switch 9.
